Panowie, to jest tekst przetłumaczony. Spójrzcie, poprawcie błędy i dajemy. Tylko nadal nie wiem co z tymi wpłatami z zagranicy. Śpicie czy co??
A year ago he earned Poland's Judo Championship. Now, he is paralysed. He was attacked with a knife in one of the pubs in Wroclaw. Only expensive surgery can help him.
The tragedy took place at the Vulevu pub in Wroclaw. Kuba Tokarz, 23 y.o. student of Academy of Physical Education, came there with his friends. At aroung 3 a.m. triggerred off a brawl. Several bruisers started to hit Kuba's friend. Kuba came to his aid. A moment later he was lying in the puddle of blood.
Kuba has been practising Judo for years. Last year he earned Polish Championship. Earlier, he earned the fifth position during the European Championship in Cyprus. Sport is his life. He cannot imagine himself spending the rest of his life bedridden (or rather wheelchair-ridden).
He was hit with a knife twice. One of the blows was tragical - the blade have cut the spinal cord...
He was moved from one hospital to another three times so far. The neurologists from the first encountered that case for the first time so he was moved to the clinic. Later he was moved to a Military Hospital where operation on the verterbras is to be carried on.
'But this won't bring him back the feeling in his legs', says Dorota Tokarz, Kuba's mother. The spinal cord can be only reconstructed only in several hospitals all over the world. Such operations were carried on successfully among others in Peking (Beijing) and in Lisbon. But the expense is too high for Kuba's family.
'None of the doctors could estimate how much money the surgery would cost. It may be a few dozen thousand as well as a few hundred thousand', says Kuba's mom.
[now we know the amout of money - we need $15,000]
Kuba do not allows for a possibility of not recovering. All his friends supports him. They brought him anti-bedsore mattress, they want to organize a charity action, they're looking for sponsors. But it's still too little. 'We HAVE TO collect the money. We are grateful for every offering', they say.
Kuba does not remember how the bandits looked like. He only recalls people throwing with chairs and that somebody knocked his tooth out with a whisky glass. 'Then, I woke up at the hospital', he says.
Nobody knows why the closed-circuit cameras didn't record the situation. Daniel Czaja, manager of the Vulevu pub, says that the computer registering the film at the hard drive had come to a halt. But the owner of the pub, Ms. Beata Jankowska, explains that the computer wa not even turned on as she was out of the city limits and none of the employees had the access to turn it on. 'The hard drive is secured at the Police Station. The investigation will show whether the files were deleted or not', she says.
Ms. Jankowska offered her help. 'I am troubled by the fact that the situation took place at my pub.' She declared to give the money earned by the pub over a few days to Kuba's family. She promised to think of a bigger action.
'Each penny is important', says Kuba's mom. 'I still hope that a real sponsor will come to us and offer their help.' [the biggest Polish sports supplements, Sportatut /trademark "Olimp"/ donated 10,000zł /ca. $3,000/ for the treatment of Kuba, they also promesed to provide all necessary supplenents needed during his rehabilitation]
When it comes to other successef of Kuba, I'd like to add that he won the eliminations to the Polish
Vale Tudo Championship, he was second in the Brasilian Ju-Jitsu League [it's another tournament held in Poland]
