W magazynie MD około 2 lata temu poruszono wątek negatywnego wpływu omega 3 na hipertrofię mięśniową. Zasugerowano, że poprzez działanie przeciwzapalne zbliżone do działania niesteroidowych leków przeciw zapalnych, hamując potreningowy proces zapalny w mięśniach, kwasy tłuszczowe omega 3 mogą osłabiać syntezę białkową.

Biuletyn naprawdę ciekawy i warty przeczytania.

ba
wzrost beztluszczowej masy ciala

omega3 powoduje lepsza i szybsza regeneracje powysilkowa

In the experiment cardiotoxin was injected into the muscles of mice. Cardiotoxin is a poison that destroys muscle cells. The researchers did their experiment with normal mice (wild type or WT), with genetically modified mice that could not manufacture PAI-1 (PAI-1 - and modified mice that had no urokinase-type plasminogen activator (uPA -.

UPA is an enzyme that prevents the formation of blood clots and breaks down cell structure. If you produce enough of it, it gives protection against thrombosis and cancer. PAI-1, full name plasminogen activator inhibitor-1, blocks this enzyme.

The graph below shows how quickly the damaged muscles regained their strength. The muscles of the mice without uPA recover more slowly, the muscles of the mice without PAI-1 recover more quickly.

WT -normalna/dzika mysz - bez zadnych modyfikacji
uPA -mysz bez urokinazowyego aktywatora plazminogenu
PAI1 -mysz bez PAI-1

PAI-1?
0-3 powoduje zmniejszenie poziomu PAI-1 (nhibitor aktywatora plazminogenu 1) - powiazany m.in. z chorobami układu krążenia, otyłością i nowotworami.

Taking a supplement halved the amount of the 'heart attack protein' PAI-1 in the blood. The higher the level of PAI-1 in your blood, the greater the chance of your having a heart attack. In the placebo group the concentration of PAI-1 increased from 16.9 to 19.2 IE per milliliter, whereas in the fish oil group the concentration decreased from 18.9 to 9.5 IE per milliliter.

co do rekompozycji

The French researchers decided to see whether a more modest amount of supplement – around 3 g of fish oil per day – would have an effect. This amounts to three large capsules per day. In the experiment, the three capsules that the test subjects took provided a daily dose of 1.8 g of n 3-fatty acids. [1.1 g EPA en 0.7 g DHA.]

Half of the women were given fish oil capsules. The other half got a placebo. The effects of the pills are shown below. NS = not statistically significant. Where figures appear in the table the effect was significant. The smaller the number, the stronger the effect.

The Correct Supplement Calculation
What are safe and effective quantities of omega-3 and omega-6 PEOs for supplementation? As explained above, the western diet is estimated to contain an effective (still capable of oxygen-transference) ratio of a maximum of 6 to 1 omega-6 to omega-3. Additionally, we have seen that the majority of cells in the body require a ratio of at least 6.5 to 1 omega-6 to 3. The difference between the estimated good PEOs obtained from the diet
and the cells’ requirement is 0.5 parts of parent omega-6. This amount needs to be supplemented. To this amount we will add an amount of extra parent omega-6 to allow the “good” omega-6 to effectively combat and overpower the “bad” (transfats and otherwise adulterated) parent omega-6 in the diet: For this purpose we will add a conservative 0.5—1.0 parts organic parent
omega-6. Therefore, we conclude that we need to supplement an additional 1.0-1.5 parts of organic parent omega-6 for every 1 part of organic parent omega-3 to meet the body’s needs. You will soon discover that additional omega-6 is required for “derivative” manufacture. An EFA supplement should contain a minimum ratio of at least 1:1 parent omega-6, at the lowest end, up to 2.5:1 organic, parent omega-6 to 3 at the upper end. Empirically, we find that these oils don’t add according
to the standard chemical rules of proportionality. Once the additional EFA requirements are identified, the supplement calculation is almost completely determined. The only additional information needed is a detailed analysis of the omega derivatives rates and the understanding of beta-oxidation of
most parent omega-3, which follows. This difference is another reason that most researchers miss deducing the correct supplemental parent omega-6/3 ratio. A supplement containing a ratio of between 1:1 parent omega-6 to omega-3, to 2.5:1 parent omega-6 to 3 meets these requirements. This is calculated by adding the supplemented PEOs to the estimated good PEOs obtained in the diet. The result is that the final ratio of “good” omega-6 to omega-3 PEOs totals between 7:1 to 8.5:1 parts omega-6 to 3. This amount of extra omega-6 (the difference between our body requirement of 6.5:1 and the higher total ratio of 7:1 to 8.5:1) allows the “good” omega-6 to effectively combat and overpower the “bad” omega-6, giving us the advantage that is required for protection.

Co do suplementacji:

Dietary Sources
If you want to get your PEFAs from food, (liquids) five grams
of organic, cold-pressed, high linoleic sesame oil plus two
grams of organic, cold-pressed flaxseed oil a day, or (solids)
10gm of raw, organic pumpkin seeds a day should do the
job.
Using food sources which, combined, deliver PEFAs in
the omega-6 to omega-3 1:1 - 2.5:1 ratio is very important.
Ratios beyond either end of this range do not appear to help
tissue cell oxygenation.
