Rumor has it that Mariusz Pudzianowski hoisted the heaviest stone for the overhead lift - easily - in training, at WSM.
In the final day of training before the 2006 MET-Rx World’s Strongest Man contest begins, Pudzianowski “grabbed up the 135-kg stone and pressed it overhead like it was a toy . . .” a WSM insider told IronMind. This equals the world record for this lift, so it’s not surprising to hear that “Mariusz looks very strong.”

It's 1pm here in Sanya. We just finished lunch and are getting ready to bus back to the event for the keg toss.
Dave was having traction problems and really struggled to keep the sled moving. The sled was built in such a way that it moved easy once you got it moving, but it was really hard to budge from a dead stop. Terry beat me on the stone carry by just a few feet. I felt like I was moving fast but he was right there with me. He and I had very fast drag times with him beating me by at least 5 ft. Our times were way ahead of Raivis who came 3rd. Gu didn't finish.
The Iranian is amazingly fast. He finished the farmers first and beat Marius in the sprint back the 25m to the drag. A mistake which I beleive was a stumble cost him 1st place. Marius just edged him out. Marius is 140kg now, the heaviest he has ever competed at in WSM.
Jarek was carrying the stone too high I beleive. The combination of heat, medley and cutting off his breathing caused him to black out. Many had him picked to make the finals. This last place finish may have cost him. Dominic flew the carry moving surprisingly fast and then yanked the sled back without stopping once thus soundly grabbing 1st in that heat.
I had Phil picked to win his heat but he fell dragging the sled which allowed Janne to pass him up and take the win.
The stone were set on little rubber rings as is the usual WSM method. Kevin's ring stuck to the stone and fell off right in front of the drag sled. He then pulled the drag sled over it which amazingly caused the back end of the sled to bounce up nearly 6" off the ground, which caused the front end to dig which stopped the sled. But it broke loose right away causing Kev to stumble and fall. He practically bounced off the ground and was flying full speed without missing a beat. The equipment error cost him 1st place I beleive. He still finished 3rd even with the fall.
1 event down, 5 to go. Magnus is out with a back injury from the farmers walk. The heat is unreal. It is so hot I was dizzy before the event even started. I've never sweat so much in such a short time in my life. The heat is a very real obstacle for everyone.

W drugim dniu trwania eliminacji do fazy finałowej Mistrzostw Świata, rozegrana została tylko jedna konkurencja - martwy ciąg.Mariusz wygrał w swojej grupie tę konkurencje i umocnił się na pozycji lidera.Ma 3 punkty przewagi nad rywalami.Zostały jeszcze dwie konkurencje: spacer buszmena i załadunek kul.Obydwie te konkurencje zawsze były mocną stroną Mariusza i on sam nawet twoierdzi że nie powinien mieć kłopotów z wyjsciem z grupy
Mariusz Pudzianowski powiedział :Mogę już chyba śmiało powiedziec że awansowałem już do finału. Jutro mam spacer buszmena i podnoszenie 6 kanieni nad głowę ale z tym spokojnie sobie poradzę, więc jestem już spokojny. A finał jak to finał, będzie ostra jazda i jeszcze kilka asów w rękawie zostawiłem dla siebie
