Jeden z najlepszych kulturystów w historii, Ed Corney nie żyje. Miał 85 lat. O śmierci poinformował jego wnuk Gabriel Johnson. Jak podaje, w wigilię Edowi pękł tętniak w mózgu i przez tydzień walczył o życie w szpitalu. Niestety wczoraj tę walkę przegrał. Corney doskonale pozował i zagrał u boku Arnolda Schwarzeneggera w filmie "Pumping Iron".

Poza rolą w filmie, Ed Corney zyskał sławę dzięki zwycięstwom w konkursach Mr. America i Mr. Universe. Był także zdobywcą nagrody Masters Olympia, a także zdobywcą nagrody Hall of Fame IFBB.
