CLOUDS OVER YOSHIDA VS. TAMURA MATCH THICKEN
By Fat Tony
Odds released by TheGreek.com all but confirmed to most fans what they had already suspected:
Kiyoshi Tamura +1250 310 Hidehiko Yoshida -2500
With Yoshida as an unbackable favorite, the attention of legit MMA fans will now be focused on the other 3 matches of the first round of the PRIDE middleweight GP. Rumors speculate that Yoshida will drop out due to injury after the first round matches of the GP, leaving the winner of the alternate match to take his place. Ironically it could be Ryan Gracie who turned down an offer to take a dive for Yoshida who replaces him in the semifinals.

I found this in a Japanese
MMA forum posted July 23rd stating...
According to postal connections in Brazil,
Ryan Gracie was offered an undisclosed amount of money to do a worked match
in which he would lose to Hidehiko Yoshida in the first round of the GP.
According to these sources,
Gracie turned down the offer and thus was left out of the GP in favor of Yoshida.
He, he..
