The third and penultimate day of the 2009 Jiu-Jitsu World Championship still has much excitement to come at the Pyramid gymnasium, in Long Beach, California. Today the preliminary stages of the black belt weight categories will be held, and, more importantly, the eliminatory stages for the absolute, the title considered the most prestigious in gi competition.

The stars of the final are Roger Gracie and Romulo Barral. After being taken down by Claudio Calasans early on, he recovered to score 7 to 2 in his favor, the catching Calasans with a choke from the mount, thus guaranteeing his place in the absolute final for the seventh year in a row.

In the other semifinal, Romulo Barral finished Gabriel Vella with a triangle.

Now the weight groups kick off later, starting at 3:10 pm. The weight groups will play out through the quarterfinals of each division.

After this stage, definition of the champions will be left till tomorrow, Sunday, the final day of the 2009 Worlds.

Co roku jezdze na mundial, wystepowac no i podgladac jak walcza najlepsi. Bardzo ciekawe doswiadczenie, mozna sporo podpatrzec, poznac nowe osoby itp. W tym roku z racji kontuzji kolana nie moglem pojechac, ale oczywiscie sledze poczynania.

Ciekawy jest Otavio Sousa. 2 lata temu przegral z Kronem w finale brazowych pasow, ale rok temu zdobyl braz w czarnych, w tym roku wygral PanAm, a w open zdobyl srebro po walce z Braga neto, ktory jest aktualnym mistrzem swiata no i duzo silniejszym.

W super ciezkiej bedzie przedwczesny final Roger - Medeiros. Liczylem na Braga neto z Rogerem w finale.

Co do kobiet

Nicolini, Kyra i Hanette zloto. Bianka i Shioda szanse rowne.
Valerie znam, ale Penny nie. Sprawa otwarta.
W sumie trenowalem z Hanette - czarny pas. Valerie byla purpurowy i brazowy jest od chyba mniej niz 2 lat.
Gabrielle Garcia jest jak slon przy reszcie:)

Z brazowych pasow Zak Maxwell. On ma chyba ok 20 lat, maly koles ale przyjemny. W zeszlym roku mial braz w purpurowych i srebro w open, widzialem jego mine po tym finale:(
W tym roku wygral PanAm w brazowych i teraz zdobyl mistrza.
Gabriel Goulart - pokonal Zaka rok temu w open w purpurowych, a teraz zloto w brazowych w kat sredniej. Brawo.

W sumie brakuje braci Ribeiro i Galvao, no ale mma teraz maja, wiec nie ma co sie dziwic
