A: I asked PRIDE for this rematch, but I was told Randleman doesn't want it. I think I know why - he might get KO'ed!
Q: Why dont you use knees as a take-down defense (like against fujita)?
A: I'll use the knee anytime I see a chance. Sprawling works fine and I train it a lot.

A: Yes, but not that much, I'm not in the church every Sunday.

A: Unfortunately I don't train other fighters at this point. In the future I'll train talented fighters in my new gym, but for now I can't do it because I still have a carreer going on and I can't focus myself on the others as much as I should.
Q: have you ever considered spending some time in fight camps like those in brazil, russia and u.s.?
A: I was in the camp in US 2 years ago. I think I have pretty much everything here. Now I also have Fabrizio to work on my ground game.
It's nice to visit all those places, but I feel the best when I'm in Croatia.

A: Ray is a cool guy and I like him, we have a friendly relation.
Q: What do you think about Wanderelei Silva as potential heavyweight fighter, is he good enough (or big enough) to handle the big guys - f.e. Fedor, Minotauro, you or Kharitonov?
A: He's dangerous. We'll see about that soon I think.
Q: Question is, do you ever think about the risks and the health complications you and other fighters will probably get in the future, long after your fighting careers?
A: If you think about that, then you shouldn't be in the ring - that's the only way that you won't get hurt. But if you see, the fighters are not trying to kill each other in the ring, we're trying to win the fight using any means allowed.
Q: Will you be releasing any movies in the U.S.?
A: My movie Ulitmate 7 will be available in a few months. All the hard work is done.
Q: What do you think of Bas Rutten?
A: He allways makes me laugh. I like him.
Q: What is your opinion on Fedor being injured at certain points in his career? Do you think he ever faked an injury so he wouldn't have to fight you?
A: Everyone gets injured at some point in his carreer. I wasn't familliar with Fedor's injury, but next time he better be healthy and armed!
Q: What are you thinking in your corner just before a fight begins?
A: Nothing particular, I'm allways relaxed, waiting for some action.
Q: Mirko, MMA training is intense and Im sure at your level your training would kill most normal men, have you ever had a serious training injury that kept you from training for a long time or surgery for such an injury?
A: Yes, I have some troubles with my back for quite some time. There are also some other injuries (elbow, knee) that troubles me from time to time. But I can say I was lucky so far, I didn't suffer any major injuries, thank God for that.
Q: Have you ever broke your nose? If so, how many times?
A: I broke it several times, 6 I think.

A: I weighted about 90 kilo's when I was close to 20. I have many plans for the future, but now the most important plan is to win Pride's HW title.
After I retire I'll work with young fighters and I'll probably do seminars as well.
Q: i want to know if sometimes during a fight you must hold back your kicks and punches to not kill your opponent or you give all your power in all your kicks and punches.
A: I'm not holding back the punches. Sometimes it's hard to kick with 100% of strength and speed because some other elements are also important for a perfect kick.
Q:Has your life changed in any way(besides that media wants to talk to you) since you became famous from K-1 and Pride? If so, how?
If you could only fight one last fight(no title fight), which opponent would you pick and why?
A: My life changed a lot because Pride brought to me some new way of fighting and it's more challenging to me. My training has changed too.
Who would I pick? It's a delicate question, but I would liek to defeat the champion, no matter who he is at the moment. Rematches with Minotauro and Randleman are also very high on priority list.
Q: Do you still consider coming back to K-1 one day?
A: Everything is possible but I don't see myself fighting in K-1 again.
Q: What do you want to achieve by becoming a politician?
A: To change things in a good way.
Q: What kind of person were you in school? Were you doing good or didn't you care about getting high grades and stuff like that?
A: I was good in school, I didn't get much in the trouble. Since I was in the ground school I started with my training and nothing was so important to me like training.

A: No, he should stick to soccer or tennis.

A: Various music, but mostly love songs and Croatian songs from Slavonia, my homeland.

A: I like many wins and I don't have a favourite KO.
Q: After you got a son, have you changed like a person?
A: It has changed me a lot and nothing is the same. Since I'm training very hard my wife is taking care of him. I try to spend my spare time with my familly, but sometimes it's too hard because of the busy schedule.
Q: Do you enjoy going to party and if yes do you drink alcohol during partying?
A: No, I don't drink alchohol usually. After two beers I'm a dead man.
Q: What car do you have? And if you could pick one car to have, which would it be?
A: I like many cars and I changed many cars. At the moment I drive BMW X5. I would like to have a formula hehe.
Q: What is your opinion about talent and potential of Domagoj Ostojic and Goran Reljic?
A: Both are a talented fighters but they have plenty to learn and I'm there to help them. Domagoj can be a force in K-1 but the success is made of a hard work and a bit of the talent.
Q: Is it impossible to win in Bela when your partner is Fortunal?
A: It is, because he doesn't play Bela, only Dalmatian games like treseta and briskula. Funny cards and games.
Q: What happened with your standup defense?
A: I changed my style a bit when I switched to MMA. My hands sometimes are a bit lowered but it's also a part of the strategy sometimes.
Boxing technique must be adjusted for MMA fights, because if you use a pure boxing you'll soon be taken to the ground.

A: No, a champion must be a complete fighter. I'll allways be a stand-up fighter but I wouldn't say I have no ground and wrestling skills.

I play cards, doing funny things and listening to the music.
Q: Do you ever feel anger towards your opponents in the ring, if yes, does it motivate you?
A: Anger is not the word. Yes, I'm motivated to beat them, but this is also a sport and I would like to beat them without causing a serious injury for them.
