Kyokushin Karateka vs. Muay Thai challenge matches in the 60s.
Kyokushin Karate, then, head instructor Kenji Kurosaki traveled to Thailand along with Fujihira and Tadashi Nakamura. Kurosaki accompanied with two of his students as a coach, but in the last minute he was asked to participate in the match. Kurosaki said during the press interview years after the bout that they were initially told that the Karateka were allowed to fight bare knuckled and throws were permitted. However, the fights turned out to be strictly under Muay Thai rule although throws were allowed.

Ever since this first challenge matches, the early days Kyokushin Karate began to incorporate many of Thai techniques.
Fujihira later became All Japan BantamWeight Kickboxing Champion with a ring name of Noboru Osawa.
Kurosaki traveled to Europe to spread Kyokushin Karate, then, started Mejiro Kickboxing gym with a sole purpose of avenging Muay Thai. Eight years later, his top student, Toshio Fujiwara, after numerous attempts fighting top Thai fighters both in Japan and Thailand, became the first non-Thai fighter to capture a Thai Championship by knocking out then Muay Thai champion

No i jeszcze wspomne ze Oyama tworzac Kyokushine wiele przejal z Thai boxu, zas sam Thai box od czasu pierwszej przegranej szalenie sie zmienil. Dlatego opowiastki o tym co bylo 40 lat temu obecnie nie za bardzo maja sens.
