The 14th edition of Copa Budokan, the most traditional Luta-Livre event of Brazil is happening this Saturday (starting 2pm) at AABB Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Promoted by the renowed master João Ricardo the event will bring some of the biggest names of Luta-Livre and also Jiu-Jitsu.'In the past I just accepted Luta-Livre Teams but today everybody is practicing Luta-Livre using the name of submission so every team is welcome', explains João Ricardo. As always the event will not count with belt divisions, having representatives of 16 academies disputing seven categories (under 58kg, under 62kg, under 68kg, under 74kg, under 82kg, under 90kg and over 90kg). To avoid friendly fights master João just accept one representative of each academy per category. Besides traditional Luta-Livre teams like Budokan, Ruas Vale-Tudo and Clube de Luta the event will also have the participation of Jiu-Jitsu Teams like Gracie Barra Combat Team and Brazilian Top Team that will have a couple of representatives in the tournament.
