The accomplishments of Israel's armed forces can be attributed to several factors - they are very clever in their use of limited resources, they have a clearcut strategy (their failure in Lebanon in 1980 can be partly blamed on the lack of such strategy) and, above all, they are highly motivated. Their backs are to the sea, after all.
Most of Israel's troops are reservists.
NOTE: All Israeli Male characters not serving as members of the regular military must serve a term in the Military, then serve until age 55 as "National Guard" type reservists.
Special thanks to Josh Peters for his input on recent Israeli military developments.
